We are seeking to appoint an experienced, dedicated and enthusiastic Educational Teaching Assistant to join our Trust, based at Batley Girls’ High School. The hours of work are Monday-Friday 08.15am-3.15pm. The successful candidate will work as part of a team including teaching and other support staff to support the learning and welfare of student/learners. This will include the provision of practical support for learning, educational activities, developing social skills and integration. An interest or qualification in Science is desirable.

The successful applicant will have significant previous experience of working with children/young people, have excellent numeracy and literacy skills and be educated to A level standard (or equivalent). NVQ 3 for Teaching assistants or equivalent qualifications would be preferable, as would previous experience of assisting classroom teachers in delivering the curriculum and supporting students’ learning in a school setting. Experience with planning and delivering specific targeted interventions is desirable.

We are seeking to appoint a Behaviour Support Assistant to join our Secondary Phase staff team from September 2020. The successful candidates will work closely with the Assistant Head for Culture along with relevant teaching staff, as part of a specialist team including teachers, support staff and a range of other professionals to support the learning and welfare of pupils. The role will involve a combination of support on a one to one and small group basis either in the classroom and/or in our Student Support Centre. In addition the Behaviour Support Assistant role will involve some specific behaviour support duties during two lessons daily which cover the secondary students’ staggered break and lunch times.

Applicants should have a good general education with GCSE equivalent in maths and English. Experience of working in this role would be desirable but not essential as training will be given.

We are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work within the Primary Phase of our school. The successful candidate will be expected to deliver curriculum interventions to groups of pupils and undertake PPA cover to whole classes across the Primary Phase. The Higher HLTA will work under the supervision of the Director of Primary Phase and the direction of each classroom teacher regarding all matters relating to the learning support of a designated pupil(s) or groups.
